Mike’s Pharmacy, under its Wellman Original and Vitabiotics Feroglobin brands, joined the list of sponsors supporting the KFC Goodwill Secondary Schools Football Championships, inking a partnership yesterday during a simple presentation ceremony at the Ministry of Education ground.
Mike’s Pharmacy representative, Micheal Jessinry, said that the company was proud to be a part of the event.
“This isn’t our first foray into sport. We support cricket as well and we will always be willing to help in the promotion of sport and it will help in the long run to develop sport.”
Meanwhile, Petra Organization Co-Director Troy Mendonca, thanked the company for joining with the KFC brand in making the event a reality, adding that their contribution was another sign of corporate Guyana supporting the development of youths and sports. The event runs from December 14th-22nd and will feature six teams along two international institutions USL Montjoly Academy of French Guiana and defending champion Shiva Boys’ Hindu College of Trinidad & Tobago.
Desrey Fox Secondary School [Waramadong] of Region #7 and Annai Secondary of Region #9 will represent the hinterland areas. Due to their unassailable lead in the GuyOil Schools’ Football League, first placed Annandale and second positioned Lodge Secondary will participate in the tournament.
The teams will be divided into two groups of three. At the conclusion of the group stage, the top two finishers will advance to the knockout round.
