A man charged with the theft of a cellphone and charger was granted bail when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Andre Chapel, 20, was granted $15,000 bail by Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty after denying a simple larceny charge.
It is alleged that on December 1st at North East La Penitence, Georgetown, he stole a cellphone and charger valued $19,500 from Gordon Ross. The unemployed man told the court that he was innocent of the charge. He was granted bail and the matter was transferred to another court. Chapel was ordered to return to court on a later date this month.
