Marcus Joaquin

A 26-year-old Mabaruma farmer, who allegedly lashed a boat captain with a piece of wood, resulting in his death, was remanded to prison yesterday after he was charged with murder.

Marcus Joaquin, 26, was not required to plead to the indictable charge after it was read to him by Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Five.

The charge stated that on November 30th, 2019, at Kumaka Waterfront, North West District, Joaquin murdered Cleveland James.
