Trinidad: Woman in pink killed, body dumped

(Trinidad Express) The body of an unidentified woman was found yesterday afternoon near a sweet potato garden in Cunupia.

Police received an anonymous call at about 2.15p.m. that the body was found in some bushes some 20 feet off Ramcharitar Trace.

A team of officers led by ASP Richard Smith, Inspector Ganga Singh, Sgt Jodhan, Sgt Lalbearry, and others, responded.

The woman appeared to have been shot multiple times to her face and upper body.

Her hands were bound to the front, while her mouth was gagged.

The victim, police said, had no form of identification.

She was described as a woman of fair complexion, about 5’5” tall, medium build, and was clad in a pink outfit – pink jersey and pink pants. She was not wearing any footwear, police said.

She appeared to have a tattoo of a rosary around her left ankle.

This incident, along with the murders of two men in Diego Martin on Wednesday night, has pushed the murder toll up to 497.
