Mark Grimmond and Chatterpaul Singh, the two men accused of attempting to kill a Lethem businessman, were yesterday committed to stand trial at the High Court.
Grimmond, of Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara and Singh, of Cummings Lodge, stand accused of attempting to murder Dwayne Grant, a Lethem businessman, between April 1st, 2018 and June 7th, 2019, in Georgetown, after they conspired with each other and persons unknown to murder him.
The two were committed to stand trial by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday after she found that there was sufficient evidence for both men to stand trial at the High Court at the conclusion of a preliminary inquiry into the charge against them.
Both had previously been released on $500,000 bail, each and will remain on bail until the start of the trial. Grimmond is the owner of Mark Interior Communications Incorpo-rated, which is located at 75 Church Street, Georgetown and also operates Rockies Hotel on Light Street.
