No sensitive information was accessed during the cyberattacks that targetted the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GLSC), Commissioner Trevor Benn said on Monday, while noting that his account was under attack on a daily basis.
Benn made the disclosure during the commission’s yearend press conference, where he cited the situation as one of the challenges the GLSC had faced this year.
He explained that with the increased use of email and the heightened national and international profile of the commission, the agency has seen an increase in cyberattacks. Most of the attacks, he noted, were done via email phishing and spoofing.
