Silver for Shomari!

Shomari Wiltshire grabbed the silver medal in the Under 17 category of the Canadian Junior Squash Open championship after losing the final to Gabriel Yun on Tuesday at the White Oaks Conference Centre, Niagara, Canada.

Wiltshire lost 4 – 11, 11 – 4, 11 – 9 and 11 – 8 to emerge the runner-up and secure the silver medal. In the earlier matches, Wiltshire bested Canadian Amin Khan in the semi-final 13 –11, 9 – 11, 12 – 10 and 11 – 8. In the quarter final, Wiltshire defeated Canadian Griffin Manley 12 – 10, 11 – 8, 11 – 7.

In the round of 16 section, he defeated New Zealander Jack Conder 4 – 11, 11 – 5, 11 – 7, 12 – 10. Similarly, Wiltshire defeated Canadian Max Shevchenko in the first round 11 – 4, 11 – 2, 11 – 5 and bested Caymanian Jace Jervis 11 – 9, 12 – 10, 11 – 5 in the second round.
