An employee of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), who was accused of forging a vehicle registration and licence, was granted his release on bail on Thursday after he denied the charge.

Rondell Lyte, a resident of Blankenburg, West Coast Demerara, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Two.

The charge states that between October 1st and October 31st, 2017, with intent to defraud, he conspired with persons unknown to forge a certificate vehicle registration and a car licence in favour of Sewattie Sukhu, to show that same was issued by GRA.

Lyte, who told the court that he still works at the entity, was granted his release on $40,000 bail.

The matter was adjourned until February 7th, 2020.
