Lucky Star pitches again

Lucky Star continues to play the role of spoiler. After upsetting the field to win the Guyana Cup in August at the Rising Sun Turf Cluf, the Cheefoon Stable standout took it talents to the Port Mourant Turf Club on Sunday and galloped away with the spoils of the feature C and Lower 1600m event.

Haynes, Shivnauth come up trumps at end-of-year badminton tournament

Akili Haynes and Priyanka Shivnauth wrapped up 2019 in triumphant fashion after clinching individual under – 19 titles in the West Indian Sports Complex, Christmas Open doubles and under-19 singles badminton tournament at the National Gymnasium Sunday evening.  Haynes, who took the boys under-19 title, accounted for his counterpart Tyrese Jeffery 2-0 in a competitive tussle.   The eventual winner took the seesaw first set which was at one point tied 18 apiece, 21-18, to draw first blood.

Gold is Money turns attention to Community Cup

The inaugural Dragon Stout Street-ball ‘Community Cup’ will officially commence tonight with eight knockout matches at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.  The opening match will pit Avocado Ballers against North East La Penitence from 19:00hrs, with Sophia tackling Festival City from 19:30hrs.
