T&T cop dies after being shot at mechanic

(Trinidad Express) Weeks after he was shot during a robbery in Arima, Corporal Frank Fox has died.

Fox, 60, succumbed to his injuries at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex yesterday morning.

The officer was described by his colleagues as “a very hard-working and conscientious officer,who always did his best and wanted to get the job done”.

He had 38-years of service, 33 as a regular police officer and five as a Special Reserve Police Officer.

He was last attached to the North Eastern Division Emergency Response Patrol Unit.

In a release yesterday, Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith, as well as the Executive of the TT Police Service (TTPS) extended condolences to Fox’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Fox was shot on the morning of November 23 while he was at his mechanic at Righteous Lane, Ari¬ma.

He told police he was ambushed by three men, and was shot in the abdomen.

He was taken for medical treatment, however, he eventually succumbed to his wounds.

Two men have been held.

They are now expected to be charged with murder.
