The Medical Council of Guyana will in January be conducting hearings on the deaths of the three children who died earlier this year at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after medication was incorrectly administered to them, according to Chairman Dr Navindranauth Rambaran.
Rambaran told Stabroek News that the matter is still pending before the council’s disciplinary committee and hearings are set to commence next month. He noted that the committee has gone through the findings and is now preparing to deliberate on them and hear from the parties involved.
He explained that after the hearings are concluded, the council will decided on the way forward based on the recommendations put forward by the disciplinary committee. The disciplinary committee has been pursuing the findings from the investigations for several months.
