A Corentyne mechanic was arrested yesterday midday after he was busted with 46.250 kilogrammes (102 pounds) of cannabis at a roadblock in front of the Weldaad Police Station.
According to a Guyana Police Force statement, ranks who were manning the roadblock intercepted an east-bound public transportation vehicle and conducted a search, which uncovered 35 parcels of cannabis.
The mechanic, 26, who was driving the vehicle, is in custody assisting with the investigation, police added.
