(Trinidad Express) Men pretending to be police officers stormed the home of Joseph Persad at Borde Narve Village near Princes Town shortly before midnight.
Persad, who lived at Woodland Trace, jumped through a window of his house to escape, but was injured in the fall.
The suspects chased after him.
He was beaten, shot and left to die.
Police officers and paramedics took Persad to the hospital.
He died at the Emergency Department of the San Fernando General Hospital around 12.15 a.m.
Police don’t know if it was a home invasion and robbery, or if Persad was targeted for another reason.
