Den Amstel were crowned the Hamilton Green Birthday Anniversary Inter-Ward football champions after defeating West Side Spartans 1-0 on sudden death penalty kicks Sunday.
The final result emanated after the fixture was locked 0-0 at the end of regulation time at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
West Side Spartans Delon Lanferman started the sudden death penalty shootout and spurned his effort compliments of a save from the custodian.
Jeffrey Perreira of Den Amstel then sealed the eventual outcome as he clinically converted into the far corner.
Due to the result, Den Amstel pocketed $200,000 and the championship trophy while the losers received $100,000 and the respective accolade.
In the third place playoff, Timehri brushed aside Uitvlugt 3-1. With the result, Timehri walked away with $60,000 while the fourth placed side received $40,000.
In the earlier semifinal stage, Den Amstel battled past Uitvlugt 2-1 while West Side Spartans overcame Timehri 1-0. In the earlier quarterfinal section, Den Amstel crushed Pouderoyen 3-1 while West Side Spartans edged Stewartville 1-0.
In the other two divisional matches, Timehri defeated Den Amstel Kings 1-0 while Uitvlugt also needled Wales.
