A 43-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Monday morning during an argument over money at Cross Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown and three suspects have since been arrested.
Dead is Richard Fresco called ‘Foots’ of Lot 23, East La Penitence, George-town.
Fresco was stabbed once in his chest and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Commander of Region 4(A) Edgar Thomas yesterday confirmed the incident which took place around 3.40 am. He said three suspects are presently in police custody assisting with investigations.
The police in a press statement yesterday said that enquiries revealed that Fresco and an unidentified man were heard having a heated argument over money which was followed by loud ‘banging’ on a nearby zinc fence.
Fresco was reportedly found lying next to the said fence, the police added.
He was removed by a public-spirited person who noticed what appeared to be a stab wound to his chest.
When Stabroek News visited the scene yesterday, residents were tightlipped about the incident.
