The Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) Moo Milk National Under-12 championship is booked for the weekend at School of the Nations, New Market Street.
According to the GCF, the DeSinco Trading and Rambarran Transport Service-sponsored tournament will be used as a basis for selecting the Carifta Junior Championships team.
Guyana is set to host the championships later in the year.
Registration for the seven-round Swiss system tournament begins at 09.00 hours and will see the likes of Mahir Rajkumar, Alexander and Nicholas Zhang, Arysh Raghunath, Jacob McDonald, Omar Shariff, Jane Singh, Dante Persaud, Isabella Rodrigues, Micaiah Enoe, Javy Archibald, Sean Fraser, Marcus Hinds and Ricard Ramlall in the male division while Maliha Rajkumar along with Anaye Lall will be strong contenders in the female category.
