Two senior members of the Guyana Police Force, including an Assistant Commis-sioner of Police were late last week seconded to positions outside of the force.
The senior cops are Assistant Commis-sioner of Police Clifton Hicken and Senior Superintendent Fazil Karimbaksh.
Acting Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Guyana Police Force, Cadet Officer Ike Grandison last evening confirmed the secondments with Stabroek News.
Grandison said that the ranks were seconded effective from Friday, January 10th.
The reason for this move remains unclear.
Prior to their secondments, both ranks were stationed at the Force Training Centre. Hicken headed the centre while Karimbaksh was the deputy.
Hicken has been posted at the Ministry of Presidency, Department of Citizenship while Karimbaksh is at the Civil Defence Commission (CDC).
Secondment is the temporary transfer of an official or worker to another position or employment.
Efforts made by this newspaper to contact the two for a comment proved futile.
