As the police probe into the murder of East La Penitence resident Richard Fresco continues, three persons who are deemed “persons of interest” in the matter remain in custody.
Regional Commander, Edgar Thomas, when contacted for an update last evening told Stabroek News that investigators believe that the suspects: two females and a male can provide them with an “insight” about what transpired.
He said, at this point, no other suspect is being pursued.
Thomas however urged any person/s who might have witnessed the incident to come forward.
Fresco called ‘Foots’ of Lot 23, East La Penitence, Georgetown was stabbed to death early Monday morning during an argument at Cross Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.
The police in a press statement has said that enquiries revealed that Fresco and an unidentified man were heard having a heated argument over money which was followed by loud ‘banging’ on a nearby zinc fence.
Fresco was reportedly found lying next to the said fence, the police added.
He was removed by a public-spirited person who noticed what appeared to be a stab wound to his chest.
Residents in the area remain tightlipped about the incident.
