An 18-year-old man was granted bail on Thursday after he denied stealing almost $200,000 worth in articles from a woman.
Roberto Perez pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him by Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court Three.
The charge alleged that in January 11, 2020, at Aquero Airstrip, North West District, Perez broke and entered the dwelling house of Jean Marie Perreira and stole a number of articles valued $173,500.
According to Prosecutor Adduni Inniss, the articles were recovered and lodged at the Aquero Police Station. She said that it was Perez’s younger brother who show-ed the Police where the articles were hidden. She did not object to bail but asked that conditions be applied should Perez be granted bail.
Perez, who told the court that he lives in Kumaka, was granted bail in the sum of $50,000.
