Frontside, 2020 Winners, Future Stars and Dream chasers secured respective opening night wins on Saturday in the annual Let’s Bet Sports Mocha ‘Village Cup’ Streetball Championship at the Mocha Tarmac.
Frontside needled Money Hunters by a 1-0 scoreline. Capella Daniels etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 17th minute. Likewise 2020 Winners squeaked past Scheme Warriors 1-0. Dellon John found the back of the net in the sixth minute.
Meanwhile, Dream Chasers defeated ‘One n Move’ 2-0. Jared Cumberbatch scores twice in the fifth and 19th minute. Also Future Stars edged Upsetters 2–1.
Jermaine Harry and Joseph Semple netted in the 12th and 18th minute each. For the loser, Javon Braithwaite netted in the second minute. Below features the complete list of results. Winner of the event will pocket $200,000, with the second, third and fourth place finisher receiving $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000 respectively.
The other sponsors of the event Specom Incorporated, Western Union, Riaz Computers, Mocha Arcadia NDC, Royalty Investment and Joinery Service and Jai Waters. The competition will continue on Wednesday at the same venue with another round of matches.
