The local private training institution, JTW Management Institute has rolled out its new suite of training programmes for the first half of 2020 which embraces disciplines ranging from basic proficiency in English and Mathematics to training in skills that better position persons for job-seeking pursuits as well as to enhance their chances of securing on-the-job promotion.
During a meeting some weeks ago to discuss the Institute’s “2020 Half Year Training Schedule” Head of the Institute Joycelyn Williams outlined what she said was an expanded training programme structured to respond to the changing requirements of what is fast becoming an increasingly dynamic local job market.
Beginning on Wednesday the Institute rolled out its Single Subject City and Guilds course titled Understanding Financial Management while commencing next week the Institute will be launching its 2020 courses in Technical Report Writing, Customer Service, Minute-Writing and Budget Planning and Control.
The institute’s training schedule for March includes a City and Guilds-approved Diploma in Leadership and Management as well as courses in Labour Law, Statistical Analysis and Assessing Financial Statements. Williams told Stabroek Business that the Institute’s course in Labour Law was tailored to provide Human Resources Managers in both the public and private sectors to better understand and interpret key legislation including the Termination and Severance Pay Act and the Leave With Pay Act. Other courses scheduled by the Institute for delivery in March include courses in Statistical Analysis that target supervisors and Managers and another City and Guilds-approved course titled Interpreting Financial Statements. In April the JTW Institute will offer a course in Contract Law along with further courses in Effective Minute Writing and Labour Law along with yet another City & Guilds course in Customer Service. Further City and Guilds-approved courses in Management Communication and Customer Service will be offered along with courses in Applied Report Writing and Workplace Sexual Harassment.
The JTW Institute will round off its training programme for the first half of 2020 in June with courses that will include Professionalism and Work Ethics, Workplace Fire Safety, Level 2 Customer Service and Planning for Retirement.
The Institute, meanwhile, is also reaching out to workplaces to provide various forms of technical assistance and training support for individuals as well as groups of employees in areas where there are believed to be deficiencies.
The JTW Management Institute is open to inquiries regarding its courses at its office situated at 157 Waterloo Street (Private Sector Commission Building) or by telephone on 2235148 or 681-2508.
