As Guyana gets ready to vote on March 2, Ballot papers were due from Canada where they were printed by Canadian Bank Note, the same company which prints the country’s currency.
Member of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Sase Gunraj, who along with fellow commissioner Charles Corbin has been in Canada supervising the printing process, told Stabroek News that the papers shall be in the country by this morning.
Meanwhile preparations for the disciplined services voting is well underway.
According to public relations officer Yolanda Ward, a total of 10,226 ranks from the Guyana Defence Force, Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Prison Service are scheduled to vote on February 21, 2020.
She noted that these men and women will cast their ballots at 62 balloting stations across the country.
These stations along with the 2,352 polling places to be used on March 2 are expected to be gazetted this week.
