Chayanne Parboo, the three-year-old Pomeroon girl who was in dire need of blood, is currently in the United States (US), where she was seen by a specialist last Thursday at a top-rated hospital.
The child and her parents arrived in the US on February 3rd.
A little over two weeks ago, local doctors’ fears were confirmed when a biopsy done on the child revealed that she has leukemia. Following the diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Chayanne’s mother, Verney Charles, said that the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) did not have the necessary drugs to begin treatment and therefore they needed to seek medical attention abroad.
