Touches put the finishing touch to Money Hunters

2020 Winners, Touches, Unruly and Church Boys clinched contrasting wins when the Let’s Bet Sports sponsored Mocha ‘Village Cup’ Streetball championships continued Monday at the Mocha Tarmac.

2020 Winners overcame a one goal deficit to defeat ‘Smally’ 3-1. Adrian Griffith handed the youthful unit the lead in the third minute, slotting from the right side. However, three unanswered goals in the space of 10 minutes sealed the eventual result.

The first conversion occurred in the seventh minute when Matthew Robinson lashed a first-time effort into the back of the net from the left side after collecting a pass from the right flank from Delon John. The second was fashioned four minutes later when Darius Thumbler rifled the ball into the left corner from the right side.

John completed the come-from-behind result in the 17th minute, blasting from left side into the right corner after latching onto a loose ball following a failed defensive clearance. Unruly crushed Scheme Warriors. Kelvin Gordon led the rout with a double. He found the back of the net in the fifth and 11th minute. Adding goals in the eighth and 15th minute respectively were Affiny Muccery and Kester Stewart. Touches brushed aside Money Hunters 5-1. Lloyd Matthews tallied a hat-trick in the lopsided encounter. The burly utility man recorded conversions in the ninth, 12th and 13th minute, with the duo of Reshaun Rich and Richard Samaroo adding goals in the 18th and 19th minute each.  For the losers, Shawn Nissi netted a consolation goal as he found the back of the net in the 16th minute. Meanwhile, Church Boys upset Hillside 3-2 on penalty kicks, after regulation time ended scoreless.
