National junior player Mohryan Baksh completed a clinical opening-round win in the 2020 Bounty Farm Ltd. Handicap squash tournament last evening at the Georgetown Club, Camp Street.
Baksh (0) who for the second time in his career is competing in the open category of any local tournament, played a tactical game against Dane Pereira (9). The 13-year-old won the contest 15-12, 15-11.
Brian Edwards (0) was also smooth on the opening night, defeating President of the Guyana Squash Association David Fernandes (0) 15-5, 15-12 as Zachary Persaud (3) brushed aside Lydia Fraser (0) 15-2, 15-9.
Meanwhile, the category A matches saw Lajuan Munroe (0) defeating Brenno DaSilva (8) 11-15, 15-12, 15-14 while Dhinren Persaud (0) got past Lucas Persaud (4) 15-12, 15-12.
The competition continues this evening with a few more exciting matches on the cards.
