President’s College, Marian Academy and East Ruimveldt secured opening day wins in the Milo Secondary Schools football competition at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
President’s College crushed Queenstown 4-0. Shalom Chislom bagged a double in the 41st and 69th minute, while Montel McAlmont and Jeremiah Johnson scored in the 25th and 28th minute respectively.
Similarly, East Ruimveldt downed St. Stanislaus 6-3. Donovan Pyle recorded a brace in the 21st and 42nd minute, while Cleon Wray, Keion Marques, Jermaine Harris and Devonte Cummings scored in the fourth, 17th, 24th and 31st minute respectively.
For the losers, Isaiah Jackson, Jodel Fernandes and Shawn Robertson scored in the 43rd, 49th and 54th minute each.
On the other hand, Marian Academy battled past St. Joseph High 3-1. Roland Hamilton, Chad Henry and Ricardo Percival scored in the 17th, 46th and 50th minute respectively. For the loser, Khalil Gittens netted in the 48th minute.
The event will continue today at the same venue with a tripleheader. At 12:00hrs, the Bishops’ High will oppose Cummings Lodge while Christianburg/Wismar will engage Golden Grove at 13:45hrs. In the final match, Lodge Secondary will oppose Ann’s Grove from 15:30hrs
