(Trinidad Guardian) A Guyanese man is now in police custody after he was found covered in blood by police officers when they responded to a domestic argument at a house in El Dorado yesterday.
The victim, who has been identified as Nicole Hackshaw of Kiskadee Drive, Trincity, later died at hospital.
According to a police report, at about 3.50 pm officers of the Northern Division Task Force responded to a domestic violence report at #268 Eastern Main Road.
Police said upon arrival they met the suspect standing in the doorway wearing a white vest and a checkered coloured short pants, covered in blood.
Police said the suspect made certain utterances and pointed to a room inside the house. The officers checked the room and saw the victim covered in blood.
Hackshaw had open wounds to the face.
Police found and seized a piece of wood next to the victim.
The suspect was subsequently detained.
Hackshaw was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope where died.
Police say the man will be charged with murder.
