Dear Editor,
My Guyana, let’s put things in perspective and not get mass hysteria as in some places. The Corona virus is estimated to have a 3% death rate. In some countries 1%. So it’s unlikely that you and your loved ones will die
The Spanish flu of 1918 killed between 17 to 50 million. Yet the people affected did not freak out. They remained strong and resilient and took care of the sick without a big hullabaloo. Then they went on to build their countries to economic and social levels the likes of which had never been seen before.
Chin up.
This too shall pass and we’ll be alright, God willing.
Yours faithfully,
Faye Elizabeth Alleyne
