The police are awaiting legal advice on the way forward in the matter involving the South Ruimveldt businessman who indiscriminately fired gunshots from his home on Sunday night.
Acting Commander of Region 4(A) Phillip Azore last evening told Stabroek News that the investigation has been completed and the file was sent for legal advice.
“We are waiting on the file to return,” Azore said.
The 41-year-old businessman remains in police custody.
The police in a statement had said that around 7:56 pm, the suspect; an auto dealer of Congress Drive, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was firing a gun indiscriminately from his premises.
As a result, members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit responded and the individual promptly surrendered.
His weapon, a .32 pistol with matching live and spent ammunition, were recovered at the scene.
At the time of the shooting, the home was occupied by the shooter’s wife and two children. No injuries was reported.
