West Indies Under – 19 player Joshua Persaud continues to prove his worth in the 2020 TT Cricket Board (TTCB) National Premiership competition at the weekend.
The elegant right-hander over the weekend, missed out on striking twin half-centuries, scoring 42 and 52 for reigning champions Alescon Comets’ in their drawn encounter against the Queens Park Cricket Club Second XI.
He now sits in the top bracket of the season’s run-scorers with 427 runs after recording two half-centuries and a century.
Persaud, the weekend prior, cracked his maiden century, an undefeated second-innings 124. He is currently experiencing some of his more impressive career numbers and described his latest century his best ever.
The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) player who is enjoying quite a successful debut and breakout spell said, prior to the commencement of the season his sole aim was to make his presence felt. That he did. Unfortunately, however, his season came to a premature end with two more matches remaining as the global outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus has prompted the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board to suspend all cricket activities under its jurisdiction for a period of 30 days in the wake of worrying concerns about the spread of the virus.
