During what it described as a “critical time” Courts says it is offering relief to its credit customers.
In a notice dated March 20th which appeared in yesterday’s Sunday Stabroek, Unicomer (Guyana) Limited said that there is a now a waiver on late payment fees. It said that customers would not be penalized if their payment is past the due date.
It said that it was taking this step as some Ready Finance customers may be unable to pay their accounts on time.
The notice said that customers facing difficulty are also asked to reach out to Unicomer’s credit team at 225-5886 ext 2357, 2358 and 2387 to work out a plan. It said that options include possible refinancing and revised payment agreements.
Courts added that Ready Finance customers on selected credit plans will also benefit from payment protection which includes redundancy cover. It said that in the event that customers lose their jobs because of redundancy, installments are paid on these accounts for a specified period.
Unicomer said it also recognized that at this point customers may be hesitant to leave their homes to make payments on their accounts. It reminded customers that they can make payments online at republicguyana.com and Scotiabank.com.
Unicomer said that it is also developing other programmes that would provide greater assistance to customers in the coming weeks.
