The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT) says it is taking a range of measures to keep customers and employees safe.
In an advertisement in yesterday’s Sunday Stabroek, GTT said it has:
-reduced hours in order to ensure staff rotation and coverage;
-limited the number of customers in a store at any given time;
-used safe and effective cleaning solutions in all of its stores and equipped field technicians with protective gear and cleaning protocols.
It said that it has also made additional resources available to customers – including more than 230 MMG agent locations – to ensure customers can continue to easily pay their bills.
Bill payment deadlines have also been extended for all customers beginning yesterday from April 10th to April 17th (and monthly thereafter on the 17th) to ensure anyone experiencing economic hardship can stay connected.
It said that it is also voluntarily reducing business broadband rates at least through the end of 2020. It noted that broadband is a central pillar of the economy.
“By reducing rates we will provide an immediate stimulus for businesses in an effort to help them make payroll and keep their employees employed”, GTT added.
