The victim of a Saturday morning hit-and-run accident along Aubrey Barker Road has been identified as Oswald Straker, a resident of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Stabroek News was reliably informed that Straker was positively identified yesterday morning by relatives.
Meanwhile, acting Commander of Region 4(A) Phillip Azore yesterday told Stabroek News that as the investigation continues, one person is presently in police custody.
“We are doing some work on this,” Azore said.
Stabroek News had reported that the accident occurred around 3.53 am on Saturday while Straker was walking on the road.
He sustained multiple injuries, including to his head and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
