A unidentified motorcyclist died yesterday afternoon after he lost control of his bike and collided with a concrete median on the Houston, East Bank Demerara Public Road.
Stabroek News understands that the man was riding motorcycle, CH 7915 on the eastern carriageway of the public road, allegedly at a fast rate of speed when he lost control while negotiating a bend and collided with the concrete median.
The accident occurred around 3.30pm.
As a result, of the impact, the motorcyclist pitched into the air before falling onto the road surface.
Public-spirited citizens picked up the unconscious man and rushed him to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where he succumbed while receiving medical attention.
His body is currently at the hospital mortuary awaiting identification and an autopsy.
