Following the restart of its operations here in January this year, Australian miner Troy Resources Limited has produced 4,528 ounces of gold in the first quarter.
By com parison, Troy produced 13,333 ounces of gold in the first quarter of 2019.
Troy closed operations in October last year after an employee died at is Karouni mine site in Region Seven.
In its report on the first quarter for this year, Troy said that 1,227 ounces of gold was produced in February and 3,301 ounces in March.
Troy in its end of quarter report said that mining at the Project restarted on 10 January 2020. Ore processing restarted on 27 January 2020.
It said that the majority of material mined and processed was sourced from the recently discovered Hicks 4 Pit.
Production results show a “measured restart in line with our revised and conservative mine plan”, the company said.
Mining is currently proceeding at Hicks 4 and Larken while experimental mining of higher grade material from Ohio Creek is being done in support of a resource upgrade at this Prospect.
The operation remains “largely unaffected” to date by the Coronavirus Pandemic, the report said. However, the situation is being monitored closely with all possible protective measures being put in place.
