Suraj Veersammy, the suspect in the murder of the woman whose battered body was stuffed in a barrel which was found partially submerged in a trench at R and S Street, Belvedere, Corentyne, on Saturday last, has confessed to the crime, police sources say.
Veersammy, also known as `Radesh’, 30, a labourer, of Belvedere Village, Corentyne, yesterday afternoon told investigators that he murdered the woman after she threatened to end their relationship.
A police source told Stabroek News that the man in his confession said he murdered the woman on April 9.
