A Region One woman is in Police custody following the death of her common law husband allegedly at her hands.
Dead is Clarence Williams aka Clarence Millington aged 35 years, a miner of Big Cannaballli, North West District.
According to a press statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), Williams was murdered at his home on Sunday April 12, 2020 allegedly by his reputed wife.
According to the statement, enquiries disclosed that Williams who was under the influence of alcohol threatened to push the suspect into a fire and an argument ensued. During this argument the victim is alleged to have choked the suspect who was at the time cleaning fish with a knife
“The suspect became annoyed and allegedly stabbed the victim twice in the region of his groin,” the release explained.
Williams was later found motionless on his bed and was taken to the Kumaka District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination while the unnamed suspect is in custody assisting with the investigation.
