The second Guyana Trade and Investment Exhibition (GuyTIE), which was to be held next month, has been postponed until further notice.
In a press release issued on Friday, GuyTIE Coordinator Tameca Sukhdeo-Singh explained that the Coordinating Committee made the decision to postpone the event in an effort to protect the health and safety of organisers, exhibitors and patrons, in light of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
While pointing out that concerns about COVID-19 have also forced many countries and companies to cancel or postpone similar exhibitions, she assured that the Committee will continue to monitor the situation closely and will announce a new date as soon as the world gains more control over the spread of the highly contagious COVID-19 disease.
