Two persons, including the driver of a minibus, were taken into custody yesterday morning after the police found a quantity of cocaine and cannabis in the vehicle during a stop and search exercise at Mabura, Upper Demerara River.
The police, in a press release issued last evening, said ranks, acting on intelligence gathered, intercepted the minibus around 9 am at Mabura, and conducted a search during which 89 grammes of cocaine and 6.818 kilogrammes of cannabis were found concealed.
The two persons arrested are expected to face charges soon.
