Orealla’s Toshao Carl Peneux has said permission has been granted for the community to make weekly trips to Corriverton for supplies.
The Toshao previously highlighted the village’s potential food shortage as a result of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) travel restrictions instituted by Suriname’s authorities that prevent access to the Corentyne River.
He had highlighted the issue to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) last Saturday.
