A resident of Hogg Street, La Penitence, has expressed concern about constant robberies that occur at the corner where her house is located.
The resident complained that there have been several robberies at the corner of Hogg Street and Middle Road. She explained that on Thursday night, a robbery occurred during the night time hours and added that it was not the first and she fears it might not be the last.
The woman said that robberies in the area are easily conducted because the persons committing the act are not being caught. “The street lights have gone off,” she said. She then explained that an unused building at the end of the street used to have a “bright” lamp which lit up the street corner after the street light went out. But now, she said, the light on the building has also gone out which makes it convenient for persons to hide and rob passers-by at night.
