It has been explained ad nauseam that Gecom is an independent and autonomous body.
If that is so then it must be seen in that context that seeking the input of the National COVID-19 Task Force (NCTF) on additional work stations is a courtesy rather than mandatory.
NCTF’s offhand response of being ‘otherwise engaged’ and therefore unable to respond to a matter of national import should in no way impact the commission making and taking a decision and then informing NCTF.
Or is Gecom independent and autonomous selectively?
