Hopeful of a return to St. Maarten this weekend, a member of the Guyanese Association is seeking to find other residents of the island in Guyana who may wish to return home.
George Mars, acting on behalf of Guyana’s Honorary Consul to St Maarten Kim Lucas-Felix, said a flight is scheduled to leave over the weekend.
Mars, who originally came to Guyana for a one-week period, has been stuck here for two months due to restrictions put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19. He said three persons are being sought to complete a quota of 10 persons for the flight.
Interested persons must possess their Dutch/ French documents.

The National COVID-19 Task Force (NCTF) on Monday announced that an application from 10 Guyanese in St Maarten to return has been approved. It said approval was subject to all requirements of the Ministry of Public Health and other relevant ministries and agencies being fulfilled. It further said results of COVID-19 test (PCR with results in English language) be provided 48 hours in advance of arrival or, if pretesting is not available, prior written consent provided by each arriving passenger for quarantine if deemed necessary by the Ministry of Public Health; and the applicants or their employers covering all costs for their return.
