Heavy and continuous rainfall is anticipated in the next 24 hours over Guyana, according to the National Weather Watch Centre.
In a statement last night, it said that a low level trough is expected to move across the country.
It added that the country will see mostly cloudy to overcast skies. Coastal and inland areas will experience continuous moderate to heavy showers and periods of continuous rain and isolated thundershowers over some inland areas. The Centre said that forecast conditions will likely lead to flooding in low-lying areas and possible landslides over hilly areas. Persons are advised to take the necessary precautions against these activities.
