The government today announced that the COVID-19 Emergency Measures (No.3) published in the Gazette 29th April 2020 and effective until June 3rd 2020 have been extended to 17th June 2020.
The extension comes amid the continuing rise of COVID-19 cases.
The government also said that a seven-day home quarantine will be allowed for returning Guyanese.
Originally, the government had said that there would be a mandatory two-week quarantine at a state facility or a private hotel designated by the government for such purposes. The private sector had urged that home quarantining be allowed.
