The COVID-19 mobile testing unit yesterday completed a three-day operation at a Diamond, East Bank Demerara location, where four persons were tested after a total of 14 were screened.
Keon Harmon, a representative of the Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC), told Stabroek News that the Ministry of Public Health, which started the project to reach persons in their own environment, is advising the public to continue to play their part in fighting the spread of the virus.
The ministry is also encouraging persons to practice thorough hand washing, the frequent cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, social distancing and staying home as much as possible.
Persons are reminded to take the necessary precautions, and keep in mind that a significant percentage of persons who have tested positive for COVID-19 virus have been asymptomatic.
Previously, the mobile testing unit visited several other locations where persons were screened and tested.
