Body found at Meten-Meer-Zorg identified

The partially decomposed body of a man who was discovered by residents of Meten-Meer-Zorg floating in a trench, was yesterday morning identified as Andy Williams, 46 years, a construction worker, formerly of Lot 136 Zeeburg, West Coast Demerara.

The man was last seen alive on June 6.

Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner Simon Mc Bean told Stabroek News that the man was identified by a relative.

Williams was found in a trench by residents of Tarla Dam at Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara on Monday afternoon.

Stabroek News understand that the discovery was made around 1.55 pm by a passerby.

At the time, the body was clad in a burgundy jersey, blue pants with white stripes and a pair of black socks.

An examination of the body did not find any marks of violence.

The police were immediately summoned.

The body was taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour for identification and a post-mortem.
