(Trinidad Express) Mall janitor Ramesh Suienarine made a virtual court appearance before a magistrate yesterday morning after he was charged with the murder of Tricia Ramsaran-Ramdass.
The mother of one was killed on May 9 at the home she shared with Sieunarine at Sukhan Trace, Barrackpore. The two were in a relationship for five years.
An autopsy found Ramsaran-Ramdass, 37, was strangled. Her funeral service was held at her parent’s Rookmineah Trace South, Barrackpore home on Tuesday morning.
Around the same time, Sieunarine, who also worked as a private-for-hire (PH) taxi driver, faced Princes Town magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine. He was not called upon to plead to the indictable charge laid by constable Callendar Sinlair. Sieunarine, 51, was unrepresented during his virtual court appearance held at the Princes Town police station.
Police prosecutor Sgt Shazeed Mohammed informed him that a State attorney would be appointed in the case.
Misir-Gosine adjourned the matter to July 14.
Sieunarine was charged with the 2004 murder of a woman with whom he shared a relationship. In 2006, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the basis of provocation, and was placed on a $50,000 bond to keep the peace for five years.
