An investigation by the Guyana Fire Service has revealed that the recent fire that destroyed the living quarters of doctors at Mabaruma, Region One, was electrical in origin.
Fire Chief Marlon Gentle has confirmed to Stabroek News that the investigation was completed and determined that the cause of the fire was electrical. The fire started on Monday at around 11 am, while the three doctors who resided at the building, were on duty at the hospital.
Gentle told Stabroek News that the doctors lost personal items in the fire and are currently being housed at a private residence provided to them by the health ministry.
