Dear Editor,
I am no legal person not even so trained. So I am at a loss to understand why the meeting slated for GECOM on Tuesday, 14 July could not proceed court filing or not.
The meeting it seems, from reports was properly called, and the report was enquired into from the Chief Election Officer. At this point it is alleged that pro-government commissioners chose not to be a part of the meeting, citing the court filing.
The meeting being properly called then, in my humble opinion, should have proceeded, as there was no legal impediment barring the meeting from proceeding.
Did the chair err in not nullifying the March 13 results earlier, which she held in abeyance?
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
